Jack Wilshere injury update

|

Jack Wilshere claims he is through the worst of his current ankle injury and hopes to return to full training in the next couple of weeks with the first team squad.

Speaking on Sky Sports over the weekend as a pundit Wilshere said “As you said it’s frustrating, I felt I started the season well and I wanted to carry on and push on, but I’m positive now I’ve come through the worst of it. Hopefully, within the next couple of weeks I can get out there with the boys.”

“You know, especially for my family when I first signed it was a dream come true everything was going well. Unfortunately, we didn’t get the results on the pitch but I felt I was playing well and things were going well. Then I picked up an injury so it has been frustrating, but my family have been West Ham fans, and me, for my whole life so it was a dream come true for them.”

In December Pellegrini told a press conference “We don’t know if Wilshere needs [ankle] surgery. We need to wait for his medical examination. We cannot be sure just yet.”

The player’s own update is more positive and suggests he could be available for selection again within weeks.
