Klopp: Hammers will be ‘different cup of tea’ this time

|

It’s hard to dislike Jurgen Klopp who has already admitted he isn’t enjoying Liverpool’s title chase given the immense pressure it involves.

And he expects more of the same when he arrives at the London Stadium on Monday evening when the Hammers – with little expected – have a big chance of taking a say in the Championship race.

Whilst we are on a low right now, given the results we have achieved so far against top teams this season hope springs eternal and the boss Manuel Pellegrini has made it clear all things are possible in the Premier League.

The  Hammers have injuries worries – notably in the shape of Samir Nasri and Aaarod Cresswell and despite the last two results Klopp is expecting as tough a game as it gets.

The Irons sqad know they have some making up to do as far as our fans are concerned given the results against AFC Wimbledon and Wolves.

It’s going to be one of those nights when we either get a narrow win ( say 1-0), draw or possible hammering and ClaretandHugh reckons a 1-1 could be on the cards.

Speaking to the media Klopp has given his take on how he expects to find things at the London Stadium and it makes interesting reading.

He said: ” We started the season against West Ham with a brilliant game from us and not a very good game from West Ham.

“That day they had a lot of new players, a new manager and all that stuff, and we were strong. That made life quite uncomfortable.

Then they still had a couple of weeks where they really had to find [something] together. But they did it and now they are one of the strongest teams.

It was a really bad start; since then they are nearly a top-six side and that’s what we should expect, the most experienced manager, I think, in the Premier League at the moment; a really good football team; really good signings in defence.

They are experienced in the full-back positions, Rice, fantastic development this season next to Noble in midfield, experience and youth.

Then you have the wings – Anderson, fantastic signing, and Marko Arnautovic an outstanding striker. That’s a really good football team. That’s what we have to be ready for again.

It’s not to compare with the first game of the season. We expected a very difficult game that day; it was not that difficult but for two reasons: we were really good and they were not ready that day. But now they are ready and that’s a completely different cup of tea.”
