Lambert: Not nice seeing what was done to Sam

|

Paul-LambertVilla manager Paul Lambert is on a bad run of results ahead of tomorrow’s clash with the Irons but draws strength from the ‘Sam Allardyce experience.’

Villa have lost their last six games but Lambert has been backed by the Hammers boss to get things sorted.

Allardyce was under pressure last season  but he survived and has taken them to fifth in the Premier League this term.

Lambert insists he will also endure declaring: “ I’ve got some really good players so I don’t have any fears about that whatsoever.

“Sam has been through it and he has been there and bought the t-shirt. He has been over the course before and has a really good side.

“Even when it was all happening, I remember from the outside looking in it was not nice seeing that from any crowd doing that to a manager.

“But he came through it and that’s what you do, you come through it. Some others might like it (opposition managers coming in for abuse) but me personally, I don’t like seeing it because I know how hard the job is.

Lambert, meanwhile, could welcome back Philippe Senderos at West Ham after the defender returned to training on Thursday following a thigh problem although he has lost striker Christian Benteke to suspension.
