Allardyce said: “I was delighted to be presented with the Barclays Manager of the Month award for October. It is an award I accepted gratefully on behalf of everybody at West Ham.

“The pinnacle of October was obviously beating Manchester City, but the most important thing was being able to put away two teams we were expected to beat in QPR and Burnley.

Sakho whamactionSakho becomes just the fourth Hammers player to win Player of the month , following Stuart Pearce (February 2001), Anton Ferdinand (January 2006) and Scott Parker (February 2011).

Firstly I’d like to congratulate Diafra Sakho a breath of fresh air not only with his contribution to the team but as a role model with his application, dedication and work rate I hope he goes on to become a West Ham legend.
Secondly and mainly I’d like to congratulate BFS for his hard work and for proving he’s not just a one trick pony. I never thought I’d be writing this as I was wholeheartedly in the Sam out camp back in May. I’ve read a lot of nonsense from contributors to this site that we’d be doing better without him or that the players had changed the tactics as if Stewart Downing had told BFS where he was going to play this season and that Enner and Diafra had filled in their own names themselves whist erasing Kevin Nolan from the starting XI. Whatever we may think of BFS the players obviously feel something for him and he’s reaping great rewards from them. He’s undoubtedly gained from the influx of quality in the summer but it is still down to him to gain the best results from the new recruits and those that remained.
I’m delighted to have this piece of humble pie and welcome others to have a slice too,of course the irony is that this is one pie BFS isn’t too keen on himself and this was always my problem with him but maybe that’s the secret of his success….who knows.
    COYI!

Good read mate,as you pointed out the players are a good indication on whether a manager is good or not.Lets be fair if someone had told me we would be fifth by November i’d have thought they were taking the rise.I know its early, but well up for the season ahead. C.O.Y.I.
