Lanzini’s back

|

Manuel Lanzini has made a far quicker than expected return to the Hmmers squad and could be involved in the match at Bournemouth tomorrow (Sat).

The Hammers play maker was thought to be out for anything up to the month but the manager revealed in his pre-match presser that he is a real possibility fr the game.

It’s exactly the boost the squad required after the events in midweek and puts the game into a different persective at the Vitality Stadium

Lanzini has enjoyed a fantastic start to the 2019/20 campaign with the Irons but missed the team’s last two matches – the in over Man United and the defeat at Oxford United.

He had received a kick in the foot whilst on international duty which wasn’t helped by turning out at Villa but it seems that he is now recovered.

Only Michail Antonio, who continues his recovery after surgery, and Winston Reid remain unavailable for the game.

Manuel returned to work with the team over the last two or three days,” Pellegrini confirmed. “He has no pain in his feet. He doesn’t have any problems. He’s in the squad list.

“About injuries, we continue working without Michail Antonio because he is recovering from surgery. Winston Reid obviously continues recovering from a problem that he has. The rest of the players are okay.”

Pablo Fornals started the last two matches for West Ham, with Lanzini unavailable, and Pellegrini has hailed the efforts of the Spaniard and fellow summer signing Sebastien Haller.

The manager believes both will continue to get even better for the Hammers as the season develops and they adapt even further to the rigours of the Premier League.

Pellegrini added: “I think Sebastien has had a good impact here in the Premier League. He’s a player that works a lot for the team also and is scoring goals. His performances are good, and I hope he will continue to improve.

“With Pablo, it’s the same as Sebastien, Albian Ajeti, and the new players to the league. They need time to know the way they can play here.

“I think that, with all of the players that we brought here, we are happy with their performances. Of course, in every game that they play they must be improving or sustaining their performance.”
