Laughable Hammers view destroyed

|

As is often the way it seems you can’t please everybody however well you do as the forums so often reflect. However, ClaretandHugh follower Westham64 reckons the bizarre calls against David Moyes seen faintly ridiculous 0 here he explains why!

By Westham64

I am constantly astonished by the views of some on here who want Moyes gone. Let’s take a minute here and think.

1. Leicester and West Ham went into the Europa League at the start of the season together – look at how their season panned out compared to us.

2. We have maintained a presence in the European qualification places notwithstanding a squad significantly smaller in depth than the “big six” just above us and the number of games we’ve played

3. You cannot underestimate what Moyes and his back room team have done in building a cameraderie and team spirit within the squad that I don’t see at any other Premier League  club at the moment (with the exception of maybe Brentford). The players all look as though they’d run through a brick wall for each other and play with a smile on their faces.

4. Our player of the year looks like it’ll be between Dawson and Bowen – quite an achievement for both when Declan Rice is in your team putting in top performances week in week out

5. We made progress in competing with the big six notably with defeating Liverpool and Chelsea at home

The future is bright – let’s run with it and see where it goes. We all agree the next two transfer windows are important and with Newcastle suddenly having a massive transfer budget next season may be even harder to compete at the top.

But why on God’s green earth would you want Moyes out. It beggars belief.

    I agree with 64.

However, Moyes supporters (that includes me) and his detractors will probably all agree that we need to strengthen this summer whether we make Europe for next season or not. We don’t know how much Moyes have to spend but this season should help convince potential signings that West Ham is a club with a bright future and so much of that is down to Moyes. Fabulous job done. Tough challenges ahead. COYI.

Unbelievably there are a number, maybe even a significant number, of people who are dissatisfied with Moyes. In fact when browsing the various West Ham fan forums I am constantly amazed by the number of people who seem to have a personal agenda against him, There particularly appears to be something of a little clique of posters on the “Hammers Chat” website who are particularly persistent with their criticisms. Maybe their little What’s App group are members of the Johnny come lately TV fan generation who seem to demand instant success. They certainly must be if they’ve forgotten what our record these last 35 years or so has been like.

Must agree it is madness to be calling for Moyes to go – he graciously came back after being snubbed after being a saviour, and we have had two superb seasons with a totally different outlook which I have loved. Now he has the chance to buy and sort out the squad, and how he has earned that courtesy!! I have bemoaned the non-use of U23’s ,and don’t apologise for that, as I believe it is missing a big trick, but that’s just opinion which we all have. Crack on DM!!

There’s always been a manager out brigade no matter who’s in charge. I still blame them for chasing John Lysol out of the club.
Criticism about a manager’s approach is one thing (we’ve all done that) but not recognizing success is ignorant.
DM, his staff and players have had 2 successful seasons by any objective measure and have earned the right to continue. No way the board sack him, even if we finish out of Europe.
I have my reservations about DM’s ability to build this club, but I believe he should be given the chance.

Get rid of moyes nah unless peps coming which he won’t be of course. Moyes done a very good job with us his strengths being gelling the squad and nobody thrashes us do they. Now unfortunately he does have his faults stubbon dithering and not integrating the 23s into the team when players are underperforming like soucek lanzini fornals diop. When we have Chesters okuflex alese longelo all ready to get game time. Get rid nah but he needs to change some past and present bad habits for next season and get rid of kral vlasic both wasted money on loan and 22plus mill.

You always get a few who will knock the manager and think they know better whoever the manager is but in answer you only have to point out the results. You only need to point out what he has achieved since he came in, no less than a complete transformation of the fortunes of our club. You only need to listen to the players, people like Rice and Noble, listen to the back room staff, listen to anyone involved with the club really talking about Moyes and it’s easy to understand the difference he has made. We’ve seen it with our own eyes. So how anyone could want him gone is beyond me.
