Mark Lawrenson still can’t convince himself that the Hammers are good enough to grab their first away win of the season.
The dour BBC pundit has weighed up the match against Stoke this weekend and believes the Irons will come away with no more than a draw.
In his weekly set of predictions for the BBC he says: West Ham have started to pick up some points – and to follow their narrow defeat at Manchester City with a win over Chelsea and a draw against Arsenal produced some positivity around the place.
After four defeats in their past five games, Stoke do not have much of a feel-good factor at the moment and Potters boss Mark Hughes is probably under more pressure than he has ever been since he has been there.
But the Potters’ performance when beaten 1-0 by Burnley this week was much better than the result. If they play like that again, they should get something to show for it.
Lawro’s prediction: 1-1

Lawrenson was fortunate to have great players around him at Liverpool in his playing days but was always the weakest link in a great team ….his comments and views are worthless…COYI…
I’m not going to lie.. but I agree with him. I think this game will be a draw… in top flight head to heads.. stoke possess 5 wins over us, we possess 4 wins and there’s been 7 draws… not to mention they are unbeaten against us under Mark Hughes.

I’ve still not got over the shock of the Everton result. This game makes me very nervous…
I would take a point from any away game but with their injuries to Zouma and Martins Indi we may have some chances, Shaqiri is always a handful, like Arnie he is unpredictable and if Crouch plays that gives them some different options. Like AP’s dad I am nervous although a lot less so than after the last 3 appearances, the players have to be switched on and not drop the level because of the opponent, we need to work just as hard to defend but maybe be a little more adventurous when we go forward, get the goal early of we can and turn the crowd, the Everton crowd were massive in their good performance even though our own supporters rose to the challenge and no doubt will against Stoke fingers crossed for a great result COYI !!!
