Liverpool another brick in Moyes’ consistency wall?

|

David Moyes spent much of his pre-match presser today bigging up his team and he chose to single Pablo Fornals out for special praise.

He’s clearly delighted with the progress they have made during a season which opened with incredible apprehension among  the fans given what confronted the team over their first seven games.

Six games, eight points and 12 goals later – to use Jurgen Klopp’s words – things have clicked for the Hammers with the only shadow over tomorrow’s game the injury to Michail Antonio.

Moyes is far too experienced to let one injury trouble him to a great extent and after giving it large on behalf of his emerging team made it clear there can be no easing up.

It’s the biggest cliche in the world but he really is a bloke who takes one day – or game – at a time and has warned  them that inconsistency is not on his agenda.

He has made it clear that is no longer to be a part of the West Ham Way and tomorrow can be another stepping stone in achieving that objective.

Speaking at https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2020/october/30-october/david-moyes-liverpool-belief-and-pablo-fornals-energy he said: “The players have done a good job but I am not going to say that every week, there is another game coming up and we have to do it again.

We are playing the champions so it is always a tough game but the last three games we will have played will have been away at Tottenham, at home to City and away at Liverpool.

So you have to say, when we saw the fixtures it was always going to be difficult but we have to make the most of it.

We play all the teams twice so that’s the way they fall and we are in a good place, the players have confidence, the results make a big difference and I hope the players can go and show it this weekend.”
