Lopetegui Looking Likely For Hammers

West Ham are likely to make an offer to Julen Lopetegui in May should they decide not to renew David Moyes’s contract this summer.

Sources close to the club have told Claret and Hugh that he is the primary target should Moyes leave the club this summer.

As revealed yesterday on C&H David Moyes will sit down with David Sullivan between the 20th and 31st of May where the manager’s fate will be decided.

Should as widely predicted either side decide not to proceed with a contract beyond the end of June a formal offer will be made at that stage.

That assumes that AC Milan or another club don’t come in for Lopetegui before that date.

Lopetegui reportedly earned £8 million per season at Wolves so he won’t come cheap with a three-year contract potentially costing the Hammers £24m.

He left Wolves after they suffered financial troubles with him agreeing to take a reduced compensation to break his contract last August to be replaced by former Hammer Gary O’Neil.

How can anyone watch those last few puerile games and EVER pick Moyes again ? This really does surprise me.

  • John Jewell says:

So, Milan fanbase raises their concern and suddenly Lopetegui is out of the picture, but WHU fans do the same and the board seems to be doubling down on him. Moyes 2.0, sorry but no thanks and typical West Ham. My main concern however, is just how much input Tim Steidten is getting with this?
