Loyal Hammer confirms exit

|

CarltonColeWest Ham Striker Carlton Cole officially confirms his exit from the Hammers after nine years at the club.

Speaking on his official twitter account Carlton said:

“Looking forward to my next adventure. I have spoken to West Ham United and it has been decided not to extend my contract. I wish West Ham United all the best and I will look out for their progress in the future. Thanks for a great 9 years. it’s been emotional”

Last week speaking on Sky’s Fantasy Football club TV show Carlton said he was left in limbo regarding his contract.

“I don’t know what is going on at the moment. As a footballer you always keep your options open. I think if I was to go abroad it wouldn’t be too bad. It would be a new experience for me. I have been in the Premiership all my life basically and that’s all I know. Sometimes to go somewhere else is another new start which can give you a new lease of life to enjoy your football. Another club that are newly promoted (to the Premier league) or in the Championship, I would have a look at that too!”

“I am just waiting, the agents have their feelers out naturally but I have not even asked what is going on with me yet, I have just left it. I am in limbo with what’s going on with me until I know what the club want to do. They haven’t told me anything yet so I can’t really start searching”
