Man U get a Hammers cold shoulder on Diop

|

l

Issa Diop is tonight emerging a  target for Manchester United!

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reported keen to tie up a summer deal which would see us get between £40-£45 million plus a United player.

The news was broken by journalist Kaveh Solheko on his personal Twitter account and sources inside the London Stadium were not ready to pour cold water over it.

We understand that nothing has gone beyond a sounding out operation between United-employed agents and Hammers director of football Mario Husillos who is being tested to give a response to the Hammers resolve in holding onto the player.

The interest started as early as the front end of last season when Jose Mourinho was in charge of the Reds and referred to him as a “monster” and asked his scouts how he had not been noticed.

Now it seems Solskjaer may be ready to follow up but we were told by senior insiders that £40 million and a player was not a sufficient bait for the hugely impressive young Frenchman.

It was indicated clearly to us that the club has no desire or need to sell and that we are in the same territory as we are with Declan Rice with the player’s value growing year on year.

We were told on the phone: “Agents are regularly sounding out clubs about players but we have no desire or intention to sell Issa Diop or any other player. “

Judging by the money we are outplaying at least on star is being sold to finance it. I hope I am wrong but seems like we are blowing our budget?

sorry but why do we all believe sky transfer day sources. its them that created the hype of transfer window lets leave it to those that really know.

Personally I think we need to at least hold as strong as Palace and Leicester. It sets a really bad precedent if we bend over when others are pricing their star assets out of the big clubs reach. If we say 80m and they balk then presumably he’s just one of many names on their list.

I am not anti selling stars at the right time for massive profits IF that money is reinvested in improving our team, however I’m not sure Diop is the right person to sell at this time. If a huge offer (van Dijk money) lands and Pellegrini thinks he can replace him and get a defensive mid and left back with that money then I’m prepared to trust him.

On a side note. I really like Diop as a character, he seems ego free and driven and I’d love him to stay.

i agree with all of that. i also believe that a great manager has to convince their players to stay together if they want to win things – a la (i hate to say it) Man.U did a while ago. the right players will want to come in to a great squad when they see a ‘project’ working

    Haha… do the deal….if it’s 40 million plus Pogba.

Pogba ??? Are you for sure. A complete waste of space. So overrated. Goes missing all the time and plays when he see’s fit.

    • Terry says:

Wouldn’t even want Pogba. He is an arrogant little **** that is to concerned with his hair style. Actually I’m not sure I want anyone from the Mancs. Looking at their squad. Maybe Martial or Rashford, but then we would be to top heavy. Luke Shaw?? I reckon we just stick with Diop unless offered 80+ mil
