Medics delighted at near injury-free start

|

West Ham’s medical staff are delighted at the attitude among the squad which is keeping injuries at the club to a minimum.

Following  a relatively injury free 1920-21 season only Ryan Fredericks has had a problem this season and he will be fit for action after the international break having suffered a low grade thigh problem.

Arthur Masuaku has had ongoing problems but he could be ready to make a start against Rapid Wiena on Thursday night if selected.

Sources inside the club have explained to CandH that the medics have put the situation down to high pressure regime training and a spirit which has rarely been seen at the club  before.

We were told: “The pressure for places is seeing the squad involved in really serious training programmes and that certainly helps keep injuries down.

“There’s a tremendous atmosphere within the squad and that helps enormously as nobody wants to miss the chance of a game.”
