Mercury falls again on West Ham barometer

|

The West Ham barometer has fallen again to  minus four after the latest Hammers defeat at the hands of Everton.

The Andy Dennis West Ham barometer matches result from last season with this season to give a more realistic indication of progress or in this case regression.

West Ham had climbed up to plus two points after the draw against Bournemouth but a loss against Crystal Palace which we won 3-2 last season turned into a 2-1 defeat dropping us down to minus one and a defeat against Everton was another minus three after we won at Goodison Park last season 3-1.

Up next is Sheffield United, a team who unbeaten away from home this season, a feat only matched by league leaders Liverpool.  Sheffield United are paired with Fulham from last season who we beat 3-1 so a loss on Saturday could leave us on minus seven.

After that, it is Newcastle at home, a game we won 2-0 last season!

Its funny how a couple of results/performances can put such a different look and feel to the season… we must win the next two…then we get a bit of a free hit for a couple of games.
