More Hammers ticketing nonsense

|

Gonzo reporting

West Ham’s naughty animator Canning Town Len has spotted the latest Hammers gaffe and has not been shy to point it out in his usual cheeky manner.

Whilst we still await a viable and coherent season ticket solution for the London Stadium the club have once again shown their lack of ticketing understanding.

Len (who has had a workable season ticket solution for a number of months now) has worked at the top level of marketing for all of his career and noticed the error on West Ham’s official Twitter account.

The club produced a mock-up of their much maligned tickets with the caption, ‘We’ve got a 3pm kick off today, where will you be watching?’.

Len was quick to reply to the club and point out that the QR code actually takes the user to Wikipedia’s home page when scanned.

Len said, “It’s just another example of the club not knowing how operate a viable ticketing procedure.  It’s quite clear that whoever designed the graphic just ‘Googled’ QR Code rather than actually understanding how to program one. I’d at least have expected the code to point to somewhere West Ham related when scanned”.

With the season fast approaching it doesn’t instill confidence in a ticketing system which is vague at best.

Surely it’s time for the club to do the simple and obvious thing. Issue one season ticket code for all of the season in its entirety and give the option of a hard copy or a downloadable smart phone version for those who prefer.

It can’t be that difficult . . . Len has been producing them in the form of his ‘Shiny collectibles’ for a few months.
