Moyes admits he will sell misfiring attacker

Moyes admits he will sell but not loan Benni

West Ham manager David Moyes has all but confirmed that winger Said Benrahma is up for sale. Moyes, usually reserved in discussing player futures, was unusually direct about the Algerian’s situation.

While Moyes kept a veil of secrecy on other matters, he made it clear that Benrahma would be allowed to leave if a permanent offer was presented. This revelation comes after West Ham turned down a loan bid from Marseille earlier in the week, coinciding with Benrahma’s first-ever red card during the FA Cup exit at Bristol City.

Lyon are also reportedly showing interest in the Algerian. With a three-match suspension following the red card, it’s possible that Benrahma may have played his last game for West Ham.

“I do believe Marseille made a loan offer,” Moyes stated on Friday, ahead of the weekend’s trip to Sheffield United. “I didn’t know about it after the Bristol City game. As far as I know, it was knocked back anyway.

“We probably need to sell to get some other players in. If that’s the case, then we’re probably in a selling mood, rather than a loaning mood.”

To expect a big fee for Benrahma is possibly wishful thinking. He’s not scored or supplied and goals for a very long time. Therefore and loan deal with an option to buy may be the clubs best option.

Need to take the confidence out of a player? Let Moyes coach him for a while, that’ll do it

Doh shouldn’t we buy one or two Players first ? Tight as a drum equals exhausted Players at the club. Don’t the Board and Moyes remember this horrible lesson they learned the hard way last Season ? Remember, if you want lots of injuries and Players playing out of position making mistakes and getting fed up with playing for us spend nothing and buy no one..

Sadly sir. We have a misfiring manager who cannot get individual players and the team over the hill to stardom.
As one writer points out (mentioning names) of some good player gets messed up by Moyes. And when they leave they discover great form elsewhere.
And the horror of it all as well is that West Ham’s losses are astronomical.
Now pray tell, what will happen to the next new signings. Already we see cracks by our last 2 centre back signings.
Best to get good new signings with a good new manager that could take the players and club to the next level.
Coyi. God bless West Ham !!!
