Moyes in the dark over Andy Carroll rumours

|

carrollDavid Moyes has told reporters he is in the dark about Andy Carroll rumours regarding interest from Chelsea.

He told a post-match press conference: “They have not made contact with me, so if they have made contact with someone else I don’t know about it. At the moment Andy Carroll is one of my squad, I want to add to the squad, not lose players.

“I know nothing about it. There have been a lot of rumours regarding a loan but as far as I know it has never officially come from Chelsea. I am not keen to lose any players, I am more keen to add to the squad.

“At the moment Andy has an ankle injury so we are hoping that will settle quickly and he will be back training shortly.”

Moyes admitted he has not spoken to the West Ham owners regarding Andy Carroll’s future leaving some doubt for plausible deniability.

Still cannot believe this one. We would be daft to loan him out. Wait & sell him to a desperate Champioship side. Or if we end up as one then keep him! Or sell him to a desperate Prem side! He will score goals but he is only worth having as backup-sad but true. If we are serious about improving this club ( it is worth leaving the ‘if’ in there) we should bite the bullet & accept a hit on the sale. A proper side would not even have him as backup when you cannot ever rely on him to be there as backup.

Everton are above us. They have already signed a striker-Tosun -& Walcott seems to be on his way. With two weeks left there is nothing to show apart from the usual list of rumours, most of which seem to be about departures. I would love to know whether Moyeswas promised anything in January when he signed up. I remember clearly an interview with DG almost as soon as Moyes came through the door saying how good the existing squad was & we shouldn’t need to spend. Was that what Moyes was told before he signed or did he begin o feel a knife in his back when he heard that statement! Just wondering…Moyes now has to capitalise on the next few fixtures – with an injury ravaged squad. Good forward planning as per usual.

Yes 64 ! I remember commenting on that DG statement lol, we’ve had waynetta come out and say the same thing really ! If they think we are too good to go down they are wrong ! A couple more injury’s and were in a fight again , its a lottery this year ! Let’s hope it doesn’t happen . we’ve got 4 strikers not including ayew lol who are injured one has the flu ! Carroll
and sakho are throwing toys at each other for bragging rights as to who can demand a start and be played more when in fact both should be moved on even if the reasons are somewhat different ! Carroll’s not injured IMO he’s after a move to a more up market bench when fit with a new contract , but you have to pass a medical and with his history nobody in their right mind would buy him , that’s why loans are being mentioned, we all know sakho is fit and France or Italy should be his destination , defiantly not the prem ! If Carroll wants to throw the toys about then remove him from the squad and away from the dressing room! His contract is running down and his timing is about perfect to kick us when the club has backed
him all through his ongoing injuries ? Moneyfor nothing get you’re kicks for free ? Another Geordie wrote that one lol to say he doesn’t want a impact role shows his loyalty for what it is ! Get rid asap before he goes on a free ! 😕

Haven’t made bid yet been btwn agents & I can believe it Conte likes a tgt CF & AC would do better at Chelsea w service from likes of Hazard Alonso William Cesc etc. At 6’4 would make good physical impact Sub & Fonte likes that but Chelsea don’t like to buy over 28 so wanted loan deal but now saying £20m for permanent I’d take £10m if we spend it on Smolov or Babcar. Bc Andy’s head has been turned & wants to start here has huge wage bill & never know when he will get injured again & yea he would do better there & can be great on his day but we need & out & out CF & if he can help is get that & pushes to leave why not sell. Def not loan that would be mad.
But is 17th & we need to start buying watching us against Huddersfield & thinking if we added some creativity & got & out & out CF if Sakho leaves we could easily make top 10.

And Bid for Wilshere who Arsenal want him to take pay cut from £110k to £90k if sell AC covers that & if move Hart on & get a hood loan GK good wages freed up.
