Moyes has no complaints over red card

|

West Ham have no complaints about the red card handed to Michail Antonio .

A dismissal resulting from two yellow cards, as opposed to a straight red, does not entitle a player to appeal against his one-match suspension.

To speak in the language of the rulebook, the “disciplinary consequences” of a yellow card are strictly not challengeable.

A ridiculous tackle from Michail Antonio in the final seconds of the game saw him receive his second yellow card and a suspension. He went in late and was rightly booked.

Post-match the manager said It can happen in football saying after getting booked the first time he was stupid to lunge in on the second one.

Moyes said he was not going to make too big a deal of it and at the time it looked like the referee got it right.

Michail Antonio will miss the home game against Manchester United next weekend.

I am afraid that Moyes is very much to blame for the Red Card . Antonio was visibly tired and ineffective following his travels and should not have been left on the field after the hour mark Having also left us high and dry without a back up central striker he should have protected him . We might have needed him fresh on the bench on Thursday and most certainly at City . Silly tackles and injuries are the only likely outcome from leaving him on the field .

Agree about the tiredness Antonio will probably never be a 90 minute player he is good for 70 – 75 mins. I am hoping this works in our favour, Antonio playing Europa gives us a better chance and the more our players play and win against higher quality teams the better we will become and the better players we will attract. It is not ideal he was sent off but he will be missing from a game we rarely win, so in context it is the least worse option and it will hopefully be an experience that improves his and the managers thinking, we all make mistakes from time to time and it’s what we learn that improves us, onwards and upwards COYI!!!
