Moyes keen to give youngsters their head

|

tonimartinez2David Moyes is set to include  Declan Rice and Domingos Quina in tomorrow’s squad as he stays true to his word on blooding young players.

Moyes told his press-conference when asked about the possibility of giving some Academy graduates a chance in his first team that he was always ready to give youth its head saying: “If I could play young players I would do,”

He said: “If you look back at my history, I’ve always played young players. But you have to do it at the right time and the right moments.

“Also, I’ve got to say, I’ve got to see enough from the young players to suggest they are better than the players who are in just now.

“We’ve got two or three young players making the bench right now. If any of them get an opportunity we will give them every chance to show what they can do.

But they need to show us, if they get in, that they are capable of staying in.”

Its criminal that Reece Oxford is twiddling his thumbs in Germany and we can barely put out a defensive unit against City tomorrow.Moyes needs to get him back in January and give him a chance again too.

If Martinez, Rice and Quina aren’t better than what’s on the pitch now they might as well retire! Play them, after the Everton game everyone is replaceable, a total disgrace !!!! Stop talking and make something happen Moyes at the moment you and psycho are as bad as what you replaced! Ii don’t care if it’s city tomorrow we need to show passion commitment and have a plan to win the game, they are only human! Let’s have a go!!!!!!

Spot on ’64. Less a case of Moyes being ‘keen’ to give so-called youth a chance, and more a case of ‘where are the players, Psycho?’ …’Not sure Gaffer, but Westley says these might do…?’ There is a whiff here like a fart sealed in a spacesuit.

All for giving these younger players an opportunity, including Oxford currently on loan. But why dress it up, Hugh, as anything other than what it is: desperation plus a twist of Hobson’s Choice. This is not about developing and nurturing young talent, more a case of Mr Moyes desperately hoping for a miracle to save his own boney ass.
