Moyes on Antonio involvement at Sheffield

|

David Moyes was hit with the Michail Antonio question the minute his pre-Sheffield United presser opened at 9.30 am.

And unsurprisingly, he failed to give a real answer to whether the Hammers striker would be fit for the trip to Bramall Lane.

We suggested yesterday that Mikey would be put through a final fitness check before the squad leave for the match on Sunday .

And given the nature of the manager’s response tp the first question at the Zoom virtual press conference that seems to be the way things are.

It’s still very much odds on Sebastian Haller starting the game but there have been big hopes all week that the big fella will be at least on the bench and ready to play some sort of part in a match that could see us take our points tally to 14.

It was always unlikely the manage would give a definitive answer and in response he said: “He’s back doing training. We’ve got a couple of days yet to see how he is.

The truth is I couldn’t give you a complete answer, but he’s getting much closer that’s for sure.”
