Moyes on hurry up to move luxury players

|

David Moyes has a couple of months to sort out a squad capable of raising a much improved challenge Premier League challenge with a new season less than two months away.

And it has become clear that certain players probably don’t have a long term future under the Hammers boss given his team selections over recent weeks.

Albian Ajeti is understood to be in advanced talks with Celtic and has never been on the Moyes wanted list whilst luxury players like Felipe Anderson and Manu Lanzini are two for whom the club will be ready to receive bids. Andriy Yarmolenko is another whose future may be on the line.

Ryan Fredericks is another who would be allowed to move on for the right money and both Fabian Balbuena and Arthur Masuaku have been bang out of favour.

The manager will be keen to get rid of players surplus to requirements quickly over the next three or four weeks and be in a position to work with his new squad one they return from the short break.

A Hammers insider told Claretandhugh by e mail: “We need new arrivals – young hungry players – with perhaps, what might be described as luxury players,  being allowed to leave in the right sort of deasls.”

I cannot understand, injury aside, why Fredericks gets so much bad commentary. He has great pace, works hard is effective in defence and puts in some great crosses. It’s not like we have a host of alternatives showing greater composure in that position.

I cannot understand what Frederick’s Ray has been watching. As a defender, his positional play is woeful, left sided opponents must be licking their lips when his name is on the team sheet. His passing and link up play is average at best. I don’t recall one “great” cross he put into the penalty area on Sunday chosing to pass backward more often than not. Lanzini and Anderson must be moved on asap or we’ll be saddled with them next season, a frightening prospect.
Think we should persevere with Haller unless we can recoup our initial investment
