Moyes on Liverpool’s return to winning ways

|

David Moyes is under absolutely no illusions about the task in front of the hammers this afternoon.

The Hammers have shown themselves to be a good side this season  but this is the game where we will probably find out just how good.

Moyes was of course at Spurs on Thursday night watching a team that until then had been on a poor run of form not by their standards .

However, results which have seen them beaten by sides such as Burnley and Southampton and average draws against others was put well and truly behind them at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

They are of course without defensive stalwart Virgil van Dijk which ahs been a hammer blow and manager Jurgen Klopp claims they will be without Fabinho this afternoon.

It remains a difficult job for our lads but they will go into the match with much confidence after the run of six wins.

Moyes, meanwhile, declared: “We are really pleased with the way the players are playing and the results we have had and we want to keep that going as long as we can.

We have got an incredibly difficult challenge against Liverpool, the reigning champions, and they showed everybody they found a real bit of form so we were never in doubt of how tough the game was going to be.

It will test us but we want to be tested by the better teams, we want to try and challenge them and this will give us a real opportunity to see what we can do.”

Having watched Thursday night’s game he said: I thought they were very good, I don’t know if their form ever went away.

I just think that sometimes things don’t quite happen for you, but everybody is well aware of what Liverpool can do and how they can play and they certainly proved that over recent seasons.”

Watching LVP play Spurs really brought into focus how LVP live the expression that the best defence is a good offence.
Really only applicable in American Football as the defence rests.
Believe they are really vulnerable to counter attack and fixed pieces.
Antonio will boss their makeshift CBs.
