David Moyes has made it clear he was worried about bringing Lucas Paqueta into the starting eleven against Brentford. Many of us felt the same so it’s good to know we are in company with the manager who knew that there was always a possibility things might not work out. In fact he was the big difference and sparked a badly needed win against the Bees.
Moyes’ Paqueta worries
It’s perfectly understandable the manager should have been worried as he would unquestionably have taken the stick if things hadn’t worked out for the squad’s outstanding creative player who instead put on the sort of performance so badly required. Hopefully there will be more of the same at Moyes’ former club Everton when the two teams clash at Goodison Park tomorrow – a game which he always look forward to describing it as a brilliant stadium with a great atmosphere.
Discussing Paqueta’s return to action Moyes said: “I was a bit concerned about him coming back from injury, but he was great. “We’ve got a busy period coming up, and players like him are going to be very important. “I think we saw his value against Brentford. With him, Mohammed Kudus and Jarrod Bowen firing, we’re in a good place.”
