The temptation is to keep looking at the fixture list and worrying ourselves to death!
The better thing to do is to start believing and the arrival of a couple of coaches can help that process with Kevin Nolan probably being the most notable of them.
Nobody would dispute that Nobby’s is a great addition to the staff and knows the mentality inside out and backwards – let’s hope he can ram it into a few heads.
Manchester City await and it’s going to take a Herculean effort to take anything from the Etihad but there’s no bigger tryer in the game than the former skipper and David Moyes has been explaining his reason for bringing both him and Paul Nevin.
Let’s hopes Kevin has had enough time to get some serious spirit into the boys ahead of what on paper looks a worrying 90 minutes.
Moyes talking at his presser and reported at https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2020/february/07-february/david-moyes-were-embracing-manchester-city-challenge said: “I wanted to add to our staff, and we’ve taken our time, partly because January has been too busy to get things done.
The minute we got January out of the way I was able to look and get people in. I wanted to bring a couple who were different in personality and different in style from what I was and what Alan [Irvine] are.
I think Kevin [Nolan]’s well-known around these parts. He knows the club better than me or anybody else, so I’m hoping he can guide us in certain parts of that.
Paul [Nevin]’s come in with an experience and understanding of different clubs, but also got a background I felt we needed. I hope both of them can do as well as the likes of Stuart [Pearce] and Billy [McKinlay] did for me when I was here last time.”
