Moyes ready to see what Oxford has to offer

|

reece-oxford-west-ham-oxford_3335636David Moyes has confirmed Reece Oxford’s return from Germany and is keen to get to see what the teenager is all about.

ClaretandHugh broke the news that Oxford was returning to “play for the Hammers” when speaking exclusively to co chairman David Sullivan yesterday evening.

And the manager has now made it clear  that he wants to take a good look at what the central defender/midfielder has to offer.

He said at his pre-West Brom presser: “Reece is coming back. I don’t know Reece, I’ve never worked with Reece so I’ll take the time to have a look at him and see how he does. I know he has been talked of very highly but went out on loan so we’ll have a look at him, get him back and see how he does.

I hope we can help him, because hes a young player we hope the work we would give him would help him. But again, I’ve not worked with him before and I don’t know the boy,

I’ve only just met him actually so from that point of view, it’ll take me a while to get to know what he does. I know he is well thought of here and for that reason we will work with him and see what he is up to

What Moyes should see unless there has been a complete deterioration in Oxford is a player on a par or even above Declan Rice hopefully.Best news we could have got in the upcoming transfer marker. Its surely time to unleash him properly in the 1st team and see before spending money on an alternative.

Totally agree with hammer64 lets start shaping our next gen defence. Burke next and hopefully Byram gets fit and gets at least a chance as I still believe theres potential there.

This is the official blurb from Borussia’s website, Oxford didn’t want to leave according to the site. https://www.borussia.de/english/team/news/borussia-news/news-detailansicht.html?tx_ttnews%5Btt_news%5D=30602&cHash=49b89edda19d1741a5d59a6fee59ae19

I wouldn’t be surprised 32 esp at least if he wanted to see out his loan. He is playing in topnleague for a top 6 side & starting & looked likely to continue to start.
Hopefully Moyes will use him & get over having PL experience & players his managed bc expensive for aging players.
Ox meanwhile could be great at DM CB or RB Al places we need.
Be a shame if he comes back to get some sub’s or goes to U23 then be a waste rather him see out his loan.
Not sure w Moyes bc times Rice seemed the much better starting choice for midfield & wasn’t used.
Issue w 6mo contract he isn’t worried about the future & saw today he supposedly has final say on transfers hopefully not sales tho can’t see the board giving up everything bc we need youth & pace in our aging squad.

Hoping for the best for out youngsters. Him & Rice our future & don’t cost £25m
