Moyes still in frame despite exit stories

|

David Moyes still has a chance of becoming the permanent Hammers boss despite stories writing him off during the day.

Much rumour-mongering – as it is bound to be the case – has been doing the rounds that his chance has gone but ClaretandHugh  has learned over the last few minutes that stories of his Hammers death have been greatly exaggerated.

Some reports claim that he was told by the board today that he was unlikely to be handed the opportunity of continuing what he has started on a permanent basis.

But our own sources that neither scenario is accurate.

There was definitely no board meeting today although we understand that the normal post match communication between the manager and co chairmen was held.

Once discussed that was the end of the matter and Moyes will – along with several others – be offered an interview opportunity probably on Monday or Tuesday of next week.

Sleeps, I cannot speak for others so i don’t see how you can. I have my reasons for not wanting Moyes to stay. I don’t want change for the sake of it. Nor, i suspect , do others. I could also put a case for keeping him. But on balance i’d prefer someone younger and more forward looking. If, however, it is decided to keep him on, then good luck to him. I shall give him my full support until such time as he becomes insupportable.

Sorry I forgot to add one thing for Zorro

When they send Lady Brady to fire you (as if you are a contestant on the Apprentice) they’ll put out a media post – “Lovely man Zorro but a useless football manager”

Good point Moro. There is somebody on here who p****d me off by telling us that the fans would rebel if Moyes stayed. Again without any evidence to back it up. I know you are on the other side of the argument to me on the question of the manager but I am with you on the issue of people appointing themselves as speaking for the fans. We had a a couple of polls on here a few weeks ago, which I could not see the point until the season was finished. Now it might be interesting just to see how many want Moyes to carry on. We are told the owners follow these discussions….Perhaps they would like to know what the fans want. No giggling there in the back row 😂😂😂

Why are fans who want a change always called the “noisy minority”? Who measures and decides if they are or are not?

I think I’m the only one who says that, but when you look at the posts on this site people who want change just for the sake of it are usually the minority.

Interviewing the man who has been manager for over six months. Is that a bit strange? They used to do this when I was in the public sector back in the 1980s. They needed to fill a vacancy but there was some ruling that all internal appointments had to be advertised. I thought it was bonkers then.
DS yet again showing his matchless skill at handling transfers & managerial changes. Surely they know if they want him or not. Blimey they could use Hugh’s handy ‘for/against cut out guide to do it 😂😂😂
To be fair I suppose it could be that they’ve are just testing the water to see if they can attract a big hitter before they settle on Moyes. But at least they know what they are getting with him. Most of the names in the frame will be big risks. The ones who would not be -e.g. Rafa – you don’t need to interview anyway. How the hell do you judge a football manager on the basis of a PowerPoint presentation anyway (sorry young people if they don’t do those anymore lol.)

  • sleepswithdafishes says:

Realistically Moyes has no competition, but with the chairmen listening to the noisy minority they seem determined to find one, just to please them. A disasterous course of action. Anarchy.

    • sleepswithdafishes says:

Of course the other issue seems to be that they don’t want him to have complete control of the football side of the club.

I think the owners will go with Moyes and again leave us wanting.Typical of G&S.

Hi Zorro welcome to West Ham where the owners value their managers – Zola sacked by Brady, Avram Grant – tried to sack him in January but Martin O’Neil had two agents one of whom was difficult so the Daves sacked him in the tunnel at Wigan and only Scott Parker’s intervention saved him from having to find his own way back to London, BFS – the owners wanted to be sure that they got in first saying his contract wouldn’t be renewed before he could say that he didn’t want to renew, Slaven Bilic sacked by Brady two weeks after the Dave’s said that he deserved the chance to manage until the end of the season – followed by Sullybgiving an interview saying that he should have been fired at the end of last season

If they decide to move on from Moyes no doubt they will talk of the need to please the fans who want expansive football (but Brady will not give up her column in the Sun)

After the performances in the last 3 matches with 7 points I find the news coming out very depressing

He should go the way the board have treated him.
