David Moyes to fans: ‘Support the players, support the staff. We are all here to do the job’

MoyesInterview978-768x432David Moyes spoke to Jim White on talkSPORT on Tuesday lunchtime after signing a contract to succeed Slaven Bilic as Hammers boss.

In response to a fan backlash, Moyes said: “Everybody has opinions. I have opinions when I go to watch teams and games as well. Everyone is entitled to that. I think my record would stand up to most. I have only managed five clubs in my career. I could probably give you reasons for most of them. The most recent one [at Sunderland] was the wrong choice by me.

“Hopefully, I will show everybody what I am really like. I have probably got one of the best win records in the Premier League.”

In a direct message to West Ham supporters, he asked them “Support the players, support the staff. We are all here to do the job and get West Ham in the correct position and move up the table.”

We will always support West Ham because it isn’t a manager, it isn’t a player and it isn’t a board. I don’t think any of us wants to see West Ham do badly and I’m sure if you get the team playing well, scoring and even winning, we’ll sing your name too.

Without wishing to be too negative, if things don’t work out then the two Davids should take a long look at themselves and admit they are too old and out of touch to be making the big decisions and leave it to Brady.
