Moyes targets centre-back replacement

|

DunkWest Ham boss David Moyes wants to make Brighton centre-back Lewis Dunk his first Hammers buy claims the Daily Mirror today.

Dunk has impressed many during the promoted Seagulls’ start to life in the Premier League and the report claims Moyes believes he would improve the brittle backline he has inherited from Slaven Bilic.

The third-bottom Hammers have conceded a Premier League worst 23 goals after 11 games, keeping only three clean-sheets in those matches.

However, Albion would demand a huge fee to sell the 25-year-old, who only signed a new five-year contract in August.

Lewis Dunk and huge fee shouldn’t be in the same sentence. If we were to go for a defender from BHA Shane Duffy would be my choice. COYI

Dunk and Duffy are a bit of a throwback to Centre Backs of the past.

Throw yourself in the way of the ball, be prepared to take the knocks, get your head in the way – like our own beloved Ginger Pele who is much missed.

Together these two will be mainly responsible for keeping Brighton in the Premiership – Brighton would be mad to let either of them go.

I know money talks but going down from the Premiership can reduce the Clubs income by something like £60 million – the bottom Club in the Premiership gets upwards of £100 million whereas the Parachute Payment is something like £40 million!

I like Dunk but be big fee to part with him in Jan if he even wanted to come.
Why not go for Larsonn at Leeds. I think championship as a number of good CBs & Bundesliga & we see that now they have come up & are still doing well.
    (Just hope its not Kone)
we have proven PL experience doesn’t mean anything right Arnie. Tho hope that changes PL experience really doesn’t make it any less a gamble.
And lately we have bought just to buy for their name Hart or bc position but with no idea of to use them in squad…

I do not give this report much credence Moyes would look at. What he has available first before buying anyone, He might even give a under 23 a chance,
