Moyes tells fans to support struggling £50M man

David Moyes has expressed the need for Kalvin Phillips to receive support from West Ham after a challenging loan spell with the club.

Phillips joined West Ham on loan from Manchester City during the January transfer window after struggling for playing time with the Premier League champions. However, his time at the London Stadium has been far from successful.

A recent incident captured Phillips swearing at a Hammers fan who criticised him as he boarded the team coach after the Newcastle match. Despite this, Moyes has stood by his player, a move consistent with his past support for players like Kurt Zouma, who faced criticism for kicking his pet cat.

Addressing reporters at his pre-match press conference ahead of West Ham’s upcoming game against Spurs, Moyes emphasised the importance of supporting Phillips and expressed confidence in the midfielder’s ability to turn things around.

“Kalvin is a human being, and what he needs most is support and assistance, which is what we’ll provide,” Moyes stated. “We urge our fans to offer all our players the support they need. Kalvin is a talented player, and I remain hopeful that we can still make something positive out of his time here.”

In life you get paid to perform. If you don’t perform on a regular basis, you don’t last long in any company. Football clubs are no different.

So typical of Moyes – I don’t want to admit another bad decision so it’s the fans fault for not backing him. Same as his awful game management decisions lose us match after match late on – teflon Moyes! Look David, you got it wrong again!!!
