Moyes tells his players: Well done!

David Moyes has told his West Ham players ‘well done’ for their performance against Spurs despite the 3-1 defeat.

The Hammers lost some crucial ground in the race to qualify for the Champions League, falling three points behind Antonio Conte’s side, who have a game in hand.

It was billed as a huge encounter despite it coming off the back of the Europa League clash with Sevilla.

The Hammers knew they could take a huge step towards the Champions League with a victory but they turned in a remarkably flat performance and were 2-0 down within 25 minutes thanks to a Kurt Zouma own goal and a deflected Son Heung-Min strike.

There was some hope when Said Benrahma lashed a volley into the bottom corner from a set-piece but the second half saw little incident until Son went through on goal to score with a couple of minutes left.

Moyes, though, insists that he was impressed with the overall performance and praised his players for their display.

Per Football.London, he said: “Incredibly difficult game. Harry Kane is a world class player and if you do not get it right you will be in trouble. I thought we started the game better and were unfortunate, not to say they should not have scored, but one hits his knee and the other is a deflection.

“At 2-0 down, when we had not done much wrong, credit to the players for sticking at it and getting a goal back. To the players I have to say well done.”

We haw not taken a single point in our away games at the so called to six clubs with only Chelsea to go. Thats 15 points lost. Had we taken a few it would have been helpful. Think that has cost us. Sad statistics- needs work. Until then forget top 4. and possibly to 6..
