New contract offer on way for Hammer

|

Young Ben Johnson is to be offered a new deal at the club this season and we understand talks have already started.

Ben has yet to feature this season but is currently seen as natural cover at right and left back with manager David Moyes is keen to keep the youngster on board.

He signed a new deal in 2019 which takes him through until 2022 and is seen very much as part of the Hammers future.

It could be that he will get a chance to impress tomorrow evening at Old Trafford should the boss decide to give Aaron Cresswell a rest.

Ben can cover at left back or on the left side of midfield and with Arthur Masuaku still recovering from a knee issue the youngster could find himself in the frame.

In the meantime talks will continue on a new contract  with a three year deal the likely offer.

Well merited, a fine young player who will undoubtedly improve his ability.
Fingers crossed that it is signed off soon with an option to extend beyond too.

  • Clive says:

Good player but not quite good enough to oust fredericks or Coufal just yet in his favoured right back position.
