Lukasz Fabianski has signed a new contract at West Ham.

The club has confirmed that the Poland international has signed an extension until 2023 with the option to extend the deal for a further year.

The goalkeeper will be staying for at least a fifth season following his switch from Swansea.

Fabianski joined in 2018 and has made 138 appearances for the club, winning the Hammer of the Year award in 2019.

He will have a large amount of competition this season, with Alphonse Areola joining permanently from PSG this summer.

And he has expressed his joy at remaining at the London Stadium, telling the club’s official website“I’m obviously pleased and very happy that I can stay for one more year, so I’m excited about it, for sure.

“The way the Club has developed and started to reach its potential, it’s been really nice to be part of it.

“I can see how much attention this Club draws when it comes to interacting with the fans or the way it’s being presented in the media.

“I think there’s a lot of interest into the Club, so it feels like this Club is one of the bigger ones in the country, so I’m just honoured and proud to be part of this Club for a few years now.”

Fabianski is 37, having enjoyed his birthday in April, and will turn 38 in the second half of the 2022/23 campaign.

It remains to be seen who will be the first-choice goalkeeper this season but much will be made of the selection against Manchester City on the first day of the season.
