The good news, it seems, keeps on coming today as West Ham fans, players and staff get used to life in the brave new world that is the Scott Parker era.

For skipper Jarrod Bowen, this will be his fifth head coach since the halcyon days of June 2023. It goes without saying that the West Ham squad will take time to adjust to more new tactics, a very different management style and changed coaching methods once Parker’s team is fully embedded at Rush Green.

Surprisingly, good news has been reported regarding Dinos Mavropanos’ fitness

Whether or not Scott Parker will be in the dugout, having met the team in front of the cameras this morning you’d hope there will be a tangible response from the players for whom the last couple of weeks must have seemed like purgatory.

Konstantinos Mavropanos celebrates scoring for West Ham during the 3-2 Championship victory over Bolton Wanderers.

Ready to rock? Dinos Mavropanos is reportedly ready for the match day squad again, ahead of schedule

And, according to sources, (thewesthamway.com) the good news could get even better with the suggestion that Dinos Mavropanos, at one time suggested to be injured for weeks, could be available for this evening’s Cardiff City tie.

Not only of course for his steadfast defending but with five goals so far this season, Dinos is amongst the league’s top scorers and without his six yard box threat at the weekend West Ham’s set pieces looked less potent.

It will be a real new manager bounce for Scott Parker if the Greek international is named in the squad tonight. Predictions as to the game outcome are all, of course, far more upbeat now that Nuno’s reign has been brought to an end:

Claret and Hugh predictions

Gonzo 2-0 West Ham win

Matt 1- 0 West Ham win

Martin 2-1 West Ham win

Sean 2-0 West Ham win

Four wins: Amazing what a new manager does for the mood amongst the C and H team.

Hopefully three points will help put the Hammers back on track. With Middlesborough, travelling away to Wrexham this evening there’s every chance that the ‘Boro will secure their own win, so it is essential that West Ham don’t lose further ground on the league leaders with the gap currently standing at six points.

Team news here at 1830: Check back shortly for confirmation that Mavropanos is in the squad!

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days - I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970..
Favourite player - Dean Ashton: Curse you Shaun Wright-Phillips.
I still watch YouTube repeats of the Cup Final of 2006 hoping in vain that Shaka Hislop grows another six inches and stops Steven Gerrard's injury time equaliser.
Can tell I'm getting old knowing I watched both Mark Noble's debut and his last game at West Ham.
Pulling on a Claret and Blue replica shirt still makes me feel the same butterflies as when I was seven years old.
Magic.

We should not go overboard about Mavropanos, he was very inconsistent and often considered a liability in his first few years. He had a great run of form with Disasi and has gone backwards defensively with Kilman.
He isn’t Bobby Moore just the best we have which isn’t saying much.

First off, I hope he doesn’t come back too soon, especially for a game we should take 3 points from without him. I think we will see the footballing equivalent of a huge sigh of relief and a breath of fresh air blowing through the team tonight. That will tell me that everyone is up for it and that the Nuno dross era is a thing of the past.
