New Ngakia club link makes sense

Jeremy Ngakia could be on his way to Norwich City once his contract runs out at the London Stadium at the end of the month.

The teenage right back has been strongly linked with various clubs but a source well known to us at Carrow Road seems confident that the 19 year old will join the Canaries this summer.

There is much speculation that highly impressive City right back Max Aarons is set for a summer move with Leicester City keen on the England under 21 international should Ben Chilwell move on to Chelsea where Frank Lampard strongly fancies him.

Watford, Arsenal, Spurs and Crystal Palace have all been credited with an interest in Ngakia but a move to Carrow Road would see him land around a 20-25k a week deal as Lewis’ replacement even were the Canaries to slip into the Championship.

He would be getting regular first team football rather than face competition from both Ryan Fredericks and Ben Johnson who is strongly fancied by David Moyes.

However, there may be a snag with the negotiations over agents fees which in the new financial climate may create a problem.

Our source declared: “Nothing is 100 per cent definite and that may well be one of the issues that needs to be sorted out.”
