Newcastle line up three signings ahead of Hammers

Callum Wilson reported as being close to a Newcastle switch

West ham face a revamped Newcastle with a strong possibility the Geordies will complete transfers worth £35 million over the next few days.

According to Telegraph, the club expects to complete the arrivals of Ryan Fraser, Jamal Lewis and Callum Wilson for their visit to the London Stadium.

The newspaper’s north eastern man Luke Edwards has reported the story which would be a hugely ambitious move by the club should it happen.

He explains that there is “increasing confidence” that Wilson will become a Magpie rather than make the move to Villa which has been widely reported.

There have been reports that with Dwight Gayle injured the Irons would face Andy Carroll but the Wilson news may well change all that.

A medical is apparently on the cards for Fraser and the report adds that Norwich have accepted a £13.5 million offer for Lewis.

As this goes on we have learned that David Moyes may well miss out on James Tarkowski who may not be too keen on a London Stadium switch.

The situation remains confusing on the West Ham transfer window front with some insiders saying the Burnley defender is a number one target whilst others insist he wants a right back.

Given the appalling performances of both Ben Johnson and Ryan Fredericks against AFC Bournemouth yesterday this comes as no surprise.

With just a few days left before the season, and with the Irons having conceded eight goals and kept no clean sheets in pre-season, new defender/s are a must as Moyes looks to get off to the most difficult of Premier League starts with a string of seriously tough fixtures in front of him.
