No intent in Mark Noble’s challenge

|

West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini said he couldn’t comment on Mark Noble’s sending off the incident as he hadn’t seen a video replay.

However, he did reveal that the captain told him there was no intent  and that he was only trying to get to the ball,  possibly just late.

Pellegrini told reporters at the post-match press conference after the Leicester City draw with West Ham “I haven’t seen the action yet, so I can’t give an opinion but, as I always say, these things happen.

The referee, you must accept his decision but at this moment I cannot say too much. Mark told me he didn’t go in with bad intentions, he tried to get the ball. Maybe he arrived late but I can’t speak about it.”

The West Ham skipper now faces a three-match ban and replays show an appeal is extremely unlikely.

  • West Ham Fan No 32 says:

Fair play to him, he knows it was a badly mistimed tackle, no intent but clearly a red.

  • bubbles says:

We all know it was not intended but it happens to him every week because he is slow , loses the ball and lunges in trying to get it back . How many points is he going to cost us before Pelligrinni realises he is a total waste of a shirt . We were much more solid with 10 men than with him slowing the game down and giving the ball away . Rubbish.

  • Muckracker says:

After making a few stray forward passes, he decided to revert to type and pass backwards. But turning and keeping possession at the same required much more skill than he has and he ended up losing the ball and lunging recklessly trying to recover it. Being a loyal WHU fan, as opposed to a Nobes supporter, I look forward to the next 3 fixtures

Muckraker – you’re comments make me lost for words. I feel sorry for you. Nobes has more skill than you have in your little toe. Until noble came back in we were losing and had no leadership. You must have gone into hiding after Nobes top drawer performance against united last month. Nothing like fickle fans. Sad.

  • Hammersone says:

It doesn’t happen to him every week bubbles. Ive seen your comments on other sites as well slagging noble off. I actually think bubbles you’re a disgrace. It’s like a grown man trolling. You’re embarrassing. What Nobes has done for this club, and people like you slating him after one tackle that had no intent to hurt the player whatsoever. Get a life bubbles.

Love Mark Noble, always have done but……………this has been coming as he’s got away with this type of challenge a few times. His passion can’t be questioned but I believe he his just a bench player now, pace and timing have gone.

    • Hammersone says:

Was his pace and timing lacking against Man Utd when he put Arnautovic through for three one against united last month? His performance against them was arguably the best individual performance of the season…amazing how fickle supporters are these days. One week this, and next week it’s that.
