Nobes explains what’s required of every new player

|

Mark Noble is tired and sore but declares that’s exactly how he should be feeling after returning to training after a mere three weeks rather than the usual near two months.

The break in Scotland has seen the Hammers quickly going through their paces and again but the captain claims that such was their form at the end of last season  they almost didn’t want it to end and that the return has been welcomed.

The boys are now back in London and preparing for a pre-season build up which will see us play a series of pre-season friendlies before launching into the first game of the season against Newcastle.

In the meantime we await the manager’s first signings and Hammers exits as he attempts to build that Hammers energetic and youthful  squad which he has often mentioned – something Mark is particularly keep making it clear her wants scrappers and fighters

Commenting at https://www.claretandhugh.info/wp-admin/post-new.php he said of the players he hoped would come in: “No matter how skilful they are, no matter how technically good they are, ‘when you play for West Ham, if you chase someone down in the corner and make a tackle or a block, or you press three players at once and then make a tackle, you’ll get a louder cheer than you will for any stepover or bit of skill’ – fact.

You get the special players come like Dimitri Payet or Carlos Tevez who the fans love and idolise, but players coming to the club need to know that if you work hard and you give everything for this fan base, no matter how you play, they will respect you for that – full stop.

The signings of Tomas Soucek and Jarrod Bowen have been great because they understand what it’s about and that’s the way they play. They’re the sort of signings that we should be making: very, very good players, but their work rate is as good as their technical ability.

Of the early fixtures he added: “They’ve not been kind to us again: Newcastle at home, which is another really tough game, and then I think we play the seven best teams in the league in the next seven. It is what it is – we’ve got to get ready for the season.

It’s a long old season, we know that, but I’m hoping we can get off to a good start and maybe cause a few upsets, a few shocks, and get some points on the board.

If you are a real Supporter you have to accept that the man is to old to play at Premiership level, he spends three parts of a game passing the ball as soon as it is given to him, even if that leaves the Player in trouble, the rest of the time, he is taking large rests and trying to keep up. We get old. Respect for the past is all well and good, but the needs of the Team must come first. This he was a good servant in the past attitude is why we get nowhere and play Players who no other Team would tolerate.
