Nolan gives Defoe advice over West Ham move

|

nolandefoeFormer West Ham skipper Kevin Nolan has offered Jermain Defoe some friendly advice ahead of a potential return to West Ham.

Speaking on Talksport radio Nolan said: “He’s a top player and you can see why people want him because he scores goals, and no matter where he’s been or what he’s done whether it’s in a struggling side or a good side, he scores goals,”

“If West Ham come for me then I’m going to West Ham,” Nolan said when asked what he would do if he was Defoe.

On the subject on whether Defoe would be welcomed back by West Ham fans after handing in a transfer request in 2003 one day after the Hammers were relegated Nolan added: “I think if Defoe goes to West Ham, it’s only a positive move for West Ham.”

In a recent poll of 1,555 of West Ham fans over 70% said they would welcome back Defoe to West Ham.
