Nolan: “I’ll be sitting down with the gaffer”

|

Kevin-NolanKevin Nolan revealed that he would be sitting down with Slaven Bilic over the next couple of weeks to discuss the future but added: “I’d love to stay at West Ham.

“I’m 33 but I feel as if I have a few years left in me. I’m not a guy who will be wanting moves if I’m not playing. But I will be sitting down with the gaffer as I say to talk things through. He’s been fantastic to me all summer and we’ll see what happens.”

Nolan believes a youthful Hammers team did itself proud in the match against FC Astra – despite the tam’s exit from Europe following a 2-1 defeat –  adding: “Over two legs we are disappointed at the way it’s turned out.

“But these young lads have done brilliantly and will have put themselves firmly in the gaffer’s mind.

“We wanted a European campaign but the gaffer showed tonight that his priority is the Premier League. We are all disappointed and for the lads back home because we wanted to give them the opportunity of a European campaign.”

His times up – time to go!

  • bubs says:

No he has years in him yet,let him go with dignity just after we get relegated,
He can’t be tired from tonight let him captain the side on Sunday along side Magia,

  • Muckracker says:

What will it take for Nolan to see that the game has passed him by?.All along, l blamed the Big Sham thinking he used to force a reluctant Nolan to play. How wrong l was!

  • Radai Lama says:

You miserable bunch. His time is up,he is just playng the game. Why was he with the kids & deadwood tonight.Ffs you dont have to be Sherlock to work it out!! 😉

  • jackthehammer says:

Fair play to Nolan. That’s how a real man behaves. No *****ing or whining that he was played with the kids. Off to Romania, puts in a shift, and keeps some dignity. Sure, he’s not good enough to be a first team regular, but all of the Nolan haters could learn a thing or two about respect and decency from this guy.

    • jetshammer says:

Have to agree with you there Jack. I agree that his days are over, they were long ago, and I thank him for his service he was invaluable getting us promoted, but he’s never complained about finding himself in the second string and went out for a shift. He’s a good captain, one of the best the way he interacts with the referees when the other players get in grief, shame he just lost that edge now on the pitch at this level.

  • Si Hammer says:

Spot on Radai,of course he has no part to play.He aint going to say he is out of the picture. As you say, just playing the game to the media.Dont be such a bunch of drama queens, you will turn into wetpants, lol

  • bubs says:

Trouble is Rad he is not playing the game,he has lost every thing that made him an asset
He can no longer get from end to end he can’t score he tackle terrible giving away so many fouls, and just argues with the officials all the time,
Having him around stops the players from moving on and a new captain being chosen

    • Radai Lama says:

Lol,well yeah i know bubs.Just ment he is saying the correct things in front of the cameras & press. He knows he has no future with us.He aint gong to say it on camera though is he 😉

  • bubs says:

If that was a shift I might make a comeback,he is just here for the money and I don’t blame him,but we have played with 10 men for 6 months now and today with 9
We are not messing with his reputation and integrity he is

  • Muckracker says:

My problem with him is that he expects, nay demands first team football. He should be dignified enough, and and respect himself enough, to step aside. The booing and rudicule he was subjected to last season should tell him something. He should do a Downing instead of hanging around where he is clearly not wanted

  • bubs says:

£50 k a week I would hang around and you could abuse me as much as you like,
But he should be treated with dignity like he is treating our club

  • Muckracker says:

Your are bloody well right, Bubs

  • rugbyirons says:

Bush, spot on.this wasnt the full interview.he was much cleverer in what he said, which was to blame last weeks team for the defeat. He put in a shift tonight he said. He’s deluded.

  • Sam Official says:

Underrated player and should be the first name on the teamsheet. He just needs the big lad fit and playing up front and get on the end of the second balls and knockdowns. Arsenal first game and it starts 0-0. Respect the draw lads!

  • Radai Lama says:

Wow,you must be real bored Sam.

  • bubs says:

Did not here the words sorry fans for being rubbish I will give my wages to the traveling fans to compensate them for having to watch this rubbish,
Tomorrow I will be a real man and hand in my transfer request and give my captains arm band back
Just poor old me I will demand what I want and fukc the club
Sorry I must treat him with dignity or I will be hounded by some idiot
