One big question from Irons defeat

Lanzini gives the Irons a boost from the spot

It’s a hard one to swallow and right now I haven’t managed it just yet!

But despite everything that occured in those dreadful last few minutes at White Hart Lane there was so much to admire in the Irons performance.

And there is a question that needs asking as a result: Do we bring Mark Noble back into the side because in my view we looked absolutely fine and more free flowing without the skipper.

Pedro Obiang absolutely ran the show for us in the engine room and with Manu Lanzini finally showing his best form and Dimi Payet returning to the sort of levels we expect it could and should have been so very different.

Slaven had no complaints about the winner saying: “It was a penalty. It was a clever move from Son. Our player slides and Son was waiting for the contact. No complaints.'”

It was tragic but despite the reverse there were too many plusses to be on the floor… from back to front we looked a very good team. It’s of no consolation but Spurs can consider themselves well beyond lucky to have taken anything from the game.

The home side improved in the second half but the Hammers had built the perfect platform until a lack of concentration saw Spurs get in behind us in the last few minutes and such was our quality in the first half that they had not one shot on target.

But that awful piece of defending which led to the penalty showed again every mistake the Hammers have make this season is punished to the ultimate.

I believe this team should be given another run out as it stands at Old Trafford and I believe completely that we will return with something from the match.

In defeat I was – despite the vicious and deep biting disappointment – encouraged to believe that the team is finding itself at long last.

There should be no damage to confidence because this was a very good performance and the lads must take that from the game and on to the next one.

Payer was running out of gas as well but Nordvelt wasn’t the answer.Spuds were really stretched at 1-2 and Zaza made a nice turn but was way too late with the pass to Payet who would have had a central shot earlier instead of being forced wide.
Went to the match and our away support was great .

The problem is when Bilic makes substitutions, fair enough Sakho had a good hour and was running out of gas – so change him for Fernandez or Fletcher and leave it at that – but Bilic withdraws Ayew and Payet and goes defensive – we were fine until then!

Zaza was slow of thought and action – he had a decent turn but fluffed his lines again – yes still useless!

The lack of depth in the Squad is getting cruelly exposed!

Was at the Rugby at Twickenham yesterday some gooners on the coach back, when we were 2-1 up I had them all singing the Dimi song so proud. It’s just a 10 minute walk home from where we got dropped off. ….I refused to look at my phone but was already planning multiple really runs of MOTD….you know what happened next so gutted.

I had us for a 3 nil pasting so 3-2 down the lane is far from disappointing. At least feve startd scoring.
