Opta figures explain Irons problems

|

nobleAccording to Opta, West Ham players have made four unforced errors leading to opposition goals in the Premier League this season; two more than any other Premier League club.

An unforced error is classed a mistake made by the player which is not due to the opponent’s skill or effort.

These were the primary contributory factors  of why we lost at home to Bournemouth after mistakes by Aaron Cresswell and Carl Jenkinson and a primary reason why we dropped points at home to Norwich after Noble’s unforced error when side pass to Tomkins went horribly wrong.cressie

When you take away those two home games you are left with a West Ham two nil home win against Newcastle and a loss against a Leicester City who were unbeaten in the league and up to Saturday.

Maybe we shouldn’t panicking about our home form just yet and instead concentrate on eliminating these errors from our games.

After all, that what Slaven Bilic said from the outset whilst clever theories were put forward about midfielders not filling in behind advancing wing backs and all the rest of it. 🙂

Ha ha. A game of football is ninety minutes long. Too easy to keep having a pop at our players. Plenty of incidents and opportunities at both ends. Noble scored in two of our games. As much as a player can make a mistake, and the opposition still has to capitalise on that mistake and put the ball past the goalkeeper and or defender, it is what happens in the whole ninety minutes of football that determines the end result. I repeat, noble scored in two games running. Does that mean he is individually responsible for winning those two games? Of course not. It is a team game. Because one player scores a goal in a game doesn’t mean he has won the game single handle fly anymore than one player making an individual error means he has lost the game singlehandedly. although admittedly it doesn’t help there are still 89 other minutes of football to be taken into account.

The main problem is after having 4 years of nothing but things to moan about as fans we have become low in tolerance to any little mistake,
As the post and slaven has said there is so much more to positive about,
We look like a different team,we sound like a good club, the fans are being spoilt every week and at last getting value for money,
Cressie has got over his wobbles,( I hope ) the new players have settled in the old ones are getting to grips with the passing and I am sure our captain will learn and start leading by example
    NO PROBLEMS
