Oxford ready…plus likely team

|

oxfReece Oxford is in line to play some part in the clash against Arsenal tomorrow and at 16 years of age that would be an amazing achievement.

ClaretandHugh was told before the end of last season that the club’s most outstanding prospect in many years and is being rewarded for pledging his future to the club in the face of fierce competition frm Chelsea, Manchester City and …err Arsenal.

The teenager has played a major part in pre-season and his absence from the trip to Romania suggests that the manager won’t have a problem throwing him into the action.

Only three days ago he declared that he was ready for Arsenal if he gets the chance and added: “The start of the new season has come around really quickly but I have played in a lot of games and hopefully I will be fit and ready.

“I think the new manager is very good and likes to get things done properly. This is a big season for me for both club and country and hopefully I will do well.”

Word is that he will be in the squad and that the likely starting line up will be: Adrian, Tomkins, Reid, Ogbonna, Cresswell, Noble, Kouyate, Oxford, Payet, Zarate, Sakho .

That would be amazing if Oxford starts but could be the perfect game as I don’t see the Ar$e as being physically tough in midfield. My main worry tomorrow would be at RB but if Payet gets off to a flyer we can get something tomorrow. As long as we give it a good go I don’t mind.

I don’t think you need fear we won’t give it a go . That starting line up looks pretty formidable. Hope they click and give us a great start to the season .. It will be hard work against a quality Arsenal side ,, but then again , our side looks quality stuff as well .
Hope to win , obviously ,, but a draw would be a happy result . Hell , as long as we play well and lose by one goal it is still a result of sorts .

Really good to read positive comments, yeah lets go boys.
This team is such a big, big improvement on last season, what ever the result.
With Obiang, Lanzini, Jenkinson & Carroll added to this line up we really might go places this campaign.
    Excited now.

Agreed. well balanced line-up if its the actual one, except right back but give him support. He’s doing a good job to fill in.
Can’t wait if thats the team we’ll give them a good go. They are my tip for the title this year, but they tend to start slow.

Lets show these so called ‘experts’ that they are full of sh*t & no way are we going to struggle. Just wait for a couple of bad results “we all said be carefull what you wish for, this shows why they should have kept he who i can’t say” F**k off
“”we ‘re coming for you, we’re coming for you, we are the *******s in Claret & Blue”” COYI 😀

    Is Obiang not fit ?
Not sure he won’t star with Jarvis on the left Payet on the right with Zarate and Sakho up front,Kouyate and Oxford or Obiang as holding Midfielders,Tomorrow right back,
    Other 4 as team above,
Samulsun,Noble ,Alfitano,Oxford and Burke with Rudolph
But there plenty to play with even Lanzini could make the bench or Lee as back up forward
But I feel positive that we can get a result, but the main thing is we play good football

yes possibly Lanwini plays in place of Oxford, to give more balance down the right side. That’s if he’s got the energy after Thursday night.
