Pastore is unaware of West Ham interest

|

Javier Pastore is unaware of reported talks between PSG and West Ham, a source close to the Argentina international told ESPN.

The 28-year old suffered a disappointing seventh season at Parc des Princes with four goals and six assists from 25 Ligue 1 appearances. A loan move to Inter Milan collapsed in January, which contributed towards him failing to make his country’s World Cup squad.

The reported source close to the player said Interest from West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini is news to him and says the player has not heard anything yet. Reports claimed yesterday that West Ham has offered €20 million in straight cash via an intermediary although Pastore’s substantial wages are likely to be the stumbling block.

Sources close to West Ham say there is some interest but agents are demanding wages are matched at £200,000 per week which makes the move a remote possibility.

New Napoli coach Carlo Ancelotti is a big fan of Pastore’s could make a bid. The ESPN source says that Pastore has not yet decided on his future because he still has not sat down with new coach Thomas Tuchel to discuss the German’s vision for PSG’s future.
