Payet : No deal is better than a bad deal

|

BEFORE!

West Ham are fully prepared to allow Dimitri Payet to serve out his remaining years of his contract in the West Ham Academy at Chadwell Health if needs be to prove a point to the football world. They are keen to prove that West Ham are no longer a selling club and this is not about the money but statement of intent for the future for the Hammers.

They know Payet probably has just one big move left in his short footballing career and he has got just as much to lose as the club does. The club believes it is completely unreasonable for a player to dictate the country and club he is sold to, the transfer price as well the timing of the sale while refusing to play for the first team.

They are prepared to call Payet’s and Marseille’s bluff and will refuse to budge on their asking price and terms of payment as they play a game of chicken right up to the transfer deadline on 31st January. To quote Teressa May from yesterday ‘No deal is better than a bad deal’

Great it shows real leadership from the board, it is a no win situation for anyone, if his marriage is at risk he needs to look at himself we gave him the platform to step up, his teammates gave everything for him and when he thought he was better than them he let them all down with deliberately bad performances to engineer his move, I have no doubt he will break mentally sooner or later so the chairmen should sit tight for a year if needs be, his value won’t go down if no one sees him play and he will always be worth £25 – £30m it is nothing in today’s market, so there is little risk in holding him over the barrel and treating him with the contempt he has showed us 😀

Just be careful with yr new owner running yr project to the wall, he had the Los Angeles Dodgers taken off his hands because he ran out of money, couldn’t pay the wages of the players and had to surrender ownership accordingly.
I wouldn’t count out the same happening to Marseille in the near future.

As for Payet, I do get yr sentiment that he may be too good a player for us.
But even if that was the case, why is he going to Marseille (who are a shadow of the club they used to be), why are Marseille not paying what Payet is worth (surely more than 30 million) and why should West Ham sell well below what he is worth?

Payet signed a long term deal, so unless Marseille pay up, Payet may only go back to Marseille for sightseeing or taking his wife out for dinner and shopping in order to save his marriage. West Ham can afford to wait…can Payet and Marseille?

We should sell him by the kilo.

On that basis his price appears to be increasing day by day and we just need to keep feeding him payet and mash.

According to the Sun, oh well that’s gotta be true….
West Ham WILL have fun competing for 9th or 10th place in one of the best leagues in the world, while Marseille are 6th in a tin pot league… yeah yeah Champions league, Jesus Christ the Faroe Islands have a team that starts in the CL every year but look how far they get… Marseille will get as far in the CL as we did in the EL….

Payet should NOT have signed an extension to his contract when he knew full well he didn’t want to stay, but the greedy p##k wanted more money, for the little effort he’s put in for the games he’s “played”..

I am not a fool and do believe Payet would flourish at a bigger club but you sir, ARE totally disillusioned if you believe that marseille are that club…

Hope we sell for a decent amount of money and marseille stay in their lofty position in that prestigious league we’d call the Conference…

How does marseille and payet have the upper hand..?? That is a very foolish statement.I
Do you not understand the word contract..? West Ham United have the upper hand..

Payet will get fined if he doesn’t turn up to training, play on a rainy cold evening in Rochdale for the U23s, goes awol (being French I KNOW you know what that means) and so on so I believe he is crapping his pants because he has burnt his bridges at our club and has to leave.
If he wants to leave that bad and marseille don’t think he’s worth the going rate, or can’t or wont pay the correct amount money he could lend them the money by playing for free for a year, but let’s face it, he won’t be doing that now will he?.?

I don’t know about anybody else, but I’m getting bored by all this now. How many different ways can this situation be recycled into yet another Payet post? Maybe we can have a post before and after him on the bog? Or maybe here’s what Payet watched on TV last night?

At the end of the day, this is modern football. It’s all about money and loyalty is a rare thing. No one should really be all that surprised or upset. Maybe if we didn’t build people up to iconic status too quickly we wouldn’t feel that aggrieved when they dump on us.

Quite simply he wants to leave, we want the best deal for him. Until that’s concluded one way or other, I don’t really give a toss how he looks leaving training or how a quote from a Brexit speech be crowbarred into the situation.

Surely there’s other, more interesting stuff going on during the transfer window?
