David Gold has claimed there’s a “perfect Boleyn storm” blowing up – today it can become a Hammers hurricane.
Our last season at the old lady could hardly be going any better and is already memorable for the arrival of the excellent Slaven Bilic, Dimitri Payet and Manu Lanzini.
Seventh place and an FA Cup quarter Final beckoning has given the club an atmosphere unrivaled in years and Gold is as caught up in it as any fan.
He says: “It’s incredibly exciting and although the season was all about League position at the outset, the FA Cup is of equal importance right now.
“To merely reach Wembley in our final season at this wonderful old place would be an incredible moment in our history in such an utterly crucial year.
“I make no predictions today except to say that if we can go to places like Liverpool and get a result it would be massively disappointing if we can’t come away from Blackburn with something and that’s not being disrespectful to Rovers.
This is a time in the Club’s history where everything is coming together. It’s like a perfect storm where we’ve got a great manager, we’ve got players, who are exceeding our expectations, and the best fans in the country.
Have we ever seen support like this? It is just exceptional for us to take 7,200 fans to Blackburn on Sunday, especially when you consider it is not the easiest to get to for a 2pm kick off.
As we said earlier in this piece the ‘storm’ is underway – come on you Irons bring on that hurricane!
Been a Hammers supporter since my 1st game at 8yrs old 1958.Yeah I know an old git lol. ive seen the good the bad and some ugly.. The Boys 86 those times under the Icelandics.
Have to say havnt been so excited or happy as I am today. Wish my hero the BIG man Bobby was alive to Live it with us. COYI
It will be a hurricane when Lanzini is ours and not a Loaner,
But at least we have a attacking team if Antonio plays right back let’s hope their left winger is rubbish,
I can hear the rumblings in the distance , fingers crossed then , after all it is the FA cup.
