Possible lineup for Bournemouth

|

Manuel Pellegrini is likely to make a few tweaks to the side that lose 4-0 at Anfield last week.

Lukasz Fabianski was West Ham’s best player last Sunday and despite letting in four goals he did nothing wrong and is likely to keep his place.

Ryan Fredericks, Angelo Ogbonna and Fabian Balbuena are also likely to remain in defence with the fit Aaron Cresswell coming in to replace Arthur Masuku who had a nightmare at Anfield.

Mark Noble and Jack Wilshere are likely to keep their places too but Declan Rice could lose his starting place to the slightly more experienced Pedro Obiang.

Felipe Anderson is almost guaranteed to get his home debut at the London Stadium and Marko Arnautovic is also a cert as long as he remains fit.  Andriy Yarmolenko could get a nod ahead of Michail Antonio to complete the lineup.

So the team is purely based on guess work and not any inside information buy could lineup like this:

Fabianski, Cresswell, Ogbonna, Balbuena, Fredericks, Wilshere, Noble, Obiang, Anderson, Yarmolenko & Arnautovic

NOBLE AGAIN? WHAT IS IT WITH NOBLE THAT MAKES ALL THE MANAGERS AT WEST HAM KEEP ON PLAYING HIM DESPITE THE FACT THAT HE CANT COMPETE ANY MORE AT THIS HIGH LEVEL? ITS LIKE WERE PLAYING WITH 10 MEN !!!!HE SHOULD STAY ON THE BENCH …

    • Ray The Hammer says:

      Or..

Could it just be that ALL the managers have got it right and you’re the one that’s got it wrong? Possibly? Maybe?

I sincerely hope Pelle does not go with this team. The three biggest thinks we learned from last weekend weekend are 1) Fredericks is not a rb in this system – he simply cannot defend, 2) we need a 10 in midfield a player with pace, this is not Obiang or Wilshere, I would play Anderson there and 3) Noble and Wilshere cannot play in the same team too similar with no pace. I believe if Pelle does not make these changes then we are in for another horror performance. My team would be something of the lines Fab, Zaba, Balbuena, Ogbanna, Masauka, Obiang, Wilshere, Anderson, Yarmo, Antonio, Arnie.

I think Arnie may be rested, if he had a calf strain last week they take a while to recover from Perez and Hernandez up top, Yarmolenko right, Anderson Left, Wilshere and Noble in the middle, Cressie, Balbuena, Ogbonna, Fredericks and Adrian would be my team.

Well, it is a jolly good job that Pellegrino has reassured Hernandez that he is a very important player for West Ham – because it looks like he is going to be left out again ! Just like with Bilic. Do “very important players” actually get game time at West Ham ? Because, it does not look like it !

That’s what I’ve been thinking. I’m still hoping that pellegrini might be the manager to get the best out of chicarito seeing as the previous two didn’t.

Do not think Wilshere and Noble can thrive in same team.Pace needed.Diop in defence surely.

We are all entitled to suggest our team – we are all aware that last season and against Liverpool last week our problem was being overrun in midfield

Let us see how Pelle sorts that out – only our second game but I feel that already it is a “must win” given our upcoming fixtures – Wolves is the other must win – otherwise we run the risk of being bottom after 7 games

    • johnham1 says:

I totally agree, this is a must win game for us, I fear he will bring Obiang into midfield and keep both Noble and Wilshere. If he does he does not see what he should be seeing. For example he wants us to press the ball high – to do this one of the foundations is that you must have player with pace to press in the first place and then if they fail to win the ball they must have the pace to recover, our midfield has neither. Either the system or approach needs to change or the personnel. It is that simple. Really worrying if he does not see this.

It’s a good to win for me, this season I think there will be a lot of relegation candidates as last year, its unfortunate we have a tough 7 opening fixtures, even Wolves are a handful. With these fixtures for Pelle it’s a battle of nerve, easiest way is to ignore the results and analyse the performance for improvement imho 🙂

  • Ray The Hammer says:

I think you’ve probably got it spot on Sean
