Pundit gives Hammers thumbs up over Cherries

|

Mark Lawrenson is tipping the Irons for a win today in a match could define David Moyes’ approach to saving the club from relegation second time around.

The former Liverpool player turned pundit reckons the ex Everton man is what the Hammers need during their new period of strife.

Moyes will have had little time to organise things on the training ground but despite that, Lawrenson believes he will get away to a winning start today following the Pellegrini disaster.

The Hammers are playing smoke and mirrors over any injury worries they may have but the Cherries have a few concerns ahead of the evening match at the London Stadium.

Given that, Lawrenson appears to believe that the Hammers can grab a seriously important win over the club from which many wanted us to recruit their boss Eddie Howe.

ClaretandHugh is going for a 2-0 win and that’s matched by Lawro as Moyes looks to make the brightest of new starts after a long absence from management.

He wrote on his website: “The return of David Moyes is just what West Ham need. He’ll get them organised and difficult to beat. All this ‘the fans aren’t happy he’s coming back’… the fans have got to be realistic.

He’s been appointed to make sure they stay up. His record is very good and if you look at how many times he has been a manager in the Premier League, he knows all about it and how it works.

I know Bournemouth have been hit by injuries but they look flat. I think West Ham will get a bounce because of the new manager.

Lawro’s prediction: 2-0
