Randolph sees new year as new start

darren-randolph-slaven-bilic-west-ham-liverpool_3408177Darren Randolph and the rest of the lads were in for training ahead of the Man United game tomorrow with the stopper making it clear he was unhappy with the Leicester defeat.

He told the official website: “It was a good game to watch if you were a neutral, or if you were a Leicester fan because they won, but we had enough chances to win the game.

“We had a difficult first 20 minutes, which we expected, but they were a different team in the second half and, if we’d stuck one of our chances away, we’d have got at least a point and possibly all three.

Despite the defeat Randolph believes the team are high on confidence after picking up ten points from their previous four league matches.

He said: “If we’d won [at Leicester], I’d have said we’d 100 per cent have turned the corner, because it would have put a little bit of extra space between Leicester and us and the other teams below us.

“It would have been four wins in a row, but it wasn’t to be so we’ll regroup and get ready for the next one.

“It was a tough start to the season but the last few results obviously helped us a bit, so we go into the New Year and will start fresh and push on again.”

Even during some of the very low years with West Ham – you still went to some games full of confidence, expecting to dominate certain games, be entertained and to win. I haven’t had that feeling for years and this year is the worst. Going to watch them has become a boring chore. I really don’t want to go to games at the moment. However, I have to go because I was sentenced with supporting them for life.

Oh yeah… Happy New Year 🙁
