Macca hands out his marks

Randolph: Got a text from a friend before kick-off “will you be ok without Fabianski?” – on balance we were 7
Coufal: Solid defensive stuff 7
Dawson: Former Baggie marshalled the defence well. Brilliant signing 7
Ogbonna: Took full advantage of non-marking to crash in the vital second goal 8
Cresswell: Payet-esque free-kick crashed against the post. A few defensive hacks but got away with them 7
Rice: Earliest ever PL penalty miss – a very West Ham record to pick up; will be relieved we got the win 7
Soucek: Into double-figures. These goals must be worth 3-4 places in the league surely? 7
Fornals: If he could improve his finishing he would be close to the ideal attacking midfielder 7
Lingard: Looking very weary but still had the composure to set up the 3rd. Can’t be too harsh as he did the heavy lifting earlier on 6
Benrahma: Clever assist for the equaliser, tracked back diligently. Looked far more confident 8
Antonio: Deserved his late goal for battling against bigger defenders without much to work with for the 3rd game running 7

Subs
Bowen: Looks like he could be fighting with Benrahma for a starting berth – good competition 5
Diop: On late as part of a back-six  No rating

I think allardyce’s comment about Antonio was uncalled for, just a bitter loser tbh ⚒⚒

  • GaryD says:

I guess I was watching a different game. Defence was strong, holding mid strong. Played 7 v 11 for much of the match.
Rice will not be taking PKs for England. He shouldn’t be taking them for us.
Fornals, one of my favourites, was selfish beyond words.
    Antonio is thinking of golf.
Lingard can go back to ManU.
Benrahma, continues to improve, but why play him on the right?

  • John Harrison says:

Hugh, you’ve given Fornals a 7 when others go on about how badly he played. I agree with you. They guy put in a fine cross in the build-up to the equaliser, and won the ball and delivered the pass that released Lingard to set up the last goal. Like Soucek he is a skilful hustler in midfield and a real factor behind the team’s success. He has to work on his dodgy finishing but let’s not forget all the rest.

    • Saul says:

Totally agree, John, he’s a very skilful player who maybe just needs some time on a weights bench

  • Childish says:

I had very different things to say with 15 min to go , I was not happy, but last night was purely about getting the win and we did so I’m not going to moan ..can u believe that high…🤣🤣 let’s get that point against soton and it will be good end yo season…just about formals, ge imo is very good, but could be top player with better finishing..but we know that anyway. .and did anyone else think dec was going to miss becauseI did ,,,,because his other pen wasn’t great and imo he isn’t a pen taker …..coyi
