Winston Reid will decide on his fitness for New Zealand’s international next Tuesday afternoon.
Whilst the Hammers want the Kiwi defender to stay in England and get himself 100 per cent fit for the match against Leicester City next weekend, they won’t stand in his way if he decides he’s fit for international duty.
Co chairman David Gold told ClaretandHugh: The players know their own bodies best and it’s their decision. If Winston says he’s fit to go then it’s his decision.
“I believe there may still be a little soreness and the whole aim is to have him in the back four for the match against City.
“He will know and as a professional we trust him entirely to make his own decision.”
It’s New Zealand’s game against South Korea
Thanks for pointing out chaps – we all make em
New Zealand are playing themselves?? I know Oceania has little in the way of competition for the All Whites, but that’s pretty extreme!! 😀
