Report: Another Hammer in contract stand off

|

West Ham are still working on a new contract for defender Vladimir Coufal this summer, according to Sky Sports.

Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth claims that there is a gap in terms  of expectations between the two parties, something that has left Coufal’s camp disappointed. The Czech Republic international has an option for two extra years on his current deal which runs to 2023.

Sheth shared the update on his personal Twitter account this afternoon, with Hammers fans surely set to be fuming.

“West Ham United continue talks with Vladimir Coufal’s reps over an improved contract,” he wrote.

“Gap in terms – Coufal’s camp disappointed with what’s being offered. Current deal up in summer 2023 with the option for 2 more years. WHU recognise his performances deserve rewards.”

The Czech right back  joined from Slavia Prague for £5.4m in October last year on a three year deal.

The 28-year-old has been a roaring success in the Premier League since his move and has been first choice right back since becoming a Hammer.

I think someone has lost the keys to the safe!
Vlad is’nt happy with his new offer, neither is our Vice Captain and best player.
And lower offers going in for supposed transfer targets.
We were told that moving to the Olympic stadium would hopefully bring European football etc, now it has , they’re frightened to death of spending the money.
Come on GSB and co, get this sorted and fast!!!

It would appear we are turning into a club in crisis. Will go nowhere and lose our best players until the board move on and sell up.. The club appears to be going backwards.

I did but it has disappeared ! The gist of which was sell up and we are rapidly becoming a club in crisis. Not posting the comment wont change things. Are we really that worried ?Hmmm.

Perhaps a new bus pass could sway him

It is getting tiresome now……… well run clubs resolve these issues BEFORE they get out into the public domain.
We’re in Europe, with our best league placing in years (along with the positional reward money) and like a slow car crash that we could see coming…..it is finally here.
Is it a coincidence…or are player contracts especially difficult at this club….because they involve money?

Amusing how people go crazy with all these never heard “sports journos”, and theyre made up stories.

Negotiations are called negotiations for a reason, would probably take less than 2 days to club go into liquidation if finances were sorted by people in social media.

This is the usual process when voluntarily improving an
already long standing contract. The club recognise that hes’s worth more than they’re paying so offer him more money. His representatives want as much as they can possibly get. That’s their job. So they will, inevitably, refuse the first offer. The club accepts this is the norm so improve the offer. The representatives still show a little unwilling so some tinkering is done until everyone is happy. Job done, and everybody comes out happy. Really can’t see what all the fuss is about.
